The Philippines comprises 7,107 islands between the Philippine and the South China Seas. A natural paradise, it is home to colourful fish and coral and some of the world’s best diving and snorkelling. Manila is the capital of the Philippines and is a city with a rich culture and history. Once a small fishing village on the Pasig River it is now the most important cultural and economic centre in the Philippines. Manila has its own unique, raw energy and both Spanish and Latin influences can be seen everywhere in the city. With its first class hotels, unspoilt shores, great shopping and energetic nightlife, Manila has something to please everyone.
The Islands of the Philippines have much to offer visitors. Cebu, a long narrow island stretching from north to south, is surrounded by a number of smaller islands and is known as the Queen City of the South. Palawan is known as ‘The Last Ecological Frontier of the Philippines’, because of its high bio-diversity, scenic landscapes and unrivalled long white sand beaches. Boracay has a reputation as a party island and recently made its debut on the Top 10 Islands list in Travel and Leisure magazine.
