The Magic of the Mountain Villages and Kykko Monastery - from Limassol and Paphos (Full Day) This tour takes you through breathtaking scenery, mountain villages and pine-clad hillsides just below the summit of Mount Olympus. Your first stop is Lania, known for its traditional architecture, before travelling to Throni to see the tomb of Archbishop Makarios - the first President of Cyprus. Then it is on to Kykko, the island’s largest and most spectacular monastery, to see the icon of Our Lady with the infant Christ, said to have been painted by the apostle Luke. On your return journey, you visit the picturesque village of Omodos, which is known for its wines and intricate lace work. During winter, visits to Kykko Monastery and Throni are subject to the weather conditions, otherwise another monastery is visited.
